I didn't choose Salcheto based on reviews (although those are impressive). I booked a tour because I wanted to support a company who designed a lightweight bottle. The wines tasted were delicious, but the tour was lacking. I was disappointed how quickly the tour guide moved our small group of 8 along. The tasting lacked a personal touch, wines were poured and the host left. There was no narration and/or discussion. Luckily the wines didn't fall flat like the tasting. My favorite was the Nobile di Montepulciano RISERVA DOCG, which was one of the bottles that came home with me. I was happily surprised the flavor didn't dissipate after being uncorked for a few days. My recommendation to this company is to tell their guests more...tell us about the significance of the tree on the label, tell us about the hands harvesting your grapes, go into detail about your solar bubbles and definitely share (Shout!) about your innovative bottles. And what about the beautiful culinary garden? So much was left unsaid. I hope those who follow leave better informed, because the wine is good and I love the sustainability practices of this company ~

Last weekend we had a wine tasting at Salcheto organic winery site. The wines that were presented with the tasting were unbelievably good. All wines made at Salcheto are organic and natural. Their organic wine assortment, together with its stunning location (full view on the village of Montepulciano) and hospitality, makes Salcheto a truly unique sustainable winery experience. Their flagship wine is the vino nobile di montepulciano; such an elegant and balanced DOCG wine with deep flavors of red fruit. We spent few hours here. Started with the winery tour and then we had the wine tasting. Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Riserva was great. We also wanted to try Obvious Rosso, their natural red wine. After chilling a bit at the terrace with beautiul view of Montepulciano, we decided to have lunch. It was a lovely experience in overall.

First, the place is bit different from what you see in booking/their site. I will start with what we liked, there’s a hot tub’s outside (and inside) the room, they separated garbage and believe in recycling. They had great natural shampoo & body wash, the bed is comfortable and the room is very romantic. On the other side, the breakfast was not so good, the coffee is really amateur and the fruits are not fresh. Furthermore, in our room was annoying noise from our neighbors bathroom. The way to the place is really dark and you barley see something when you going outside, and in our time, the chef was sick so there wasn’t any dinner/lunch to eat there (and they didn’t offer us other options).
